Committees

Executive Committee

The Executive Committee consists of each of the board officers (chair, vice chair, treasurer, & secretary) and the chairs of each of the committees. Each of the committees advises the Executive Committee regarding their efforts and progress. The Executive Committee formulates a plan of action based on the decisions of the committees, then makes its recommendations to the Board. As the Board's collective leaders, the Executive Committee serves an important role in the smooth operation and planning of WDB activities.

RFP/Programming Committee

The RFP Committee develops requests for proposals for each of the program funding streams: Adult, Dislocated Worker, and Youth. The RFP Committee works in conjunction with a subcommittee of the Appropriations Committee to evaluate proposals during the RFP process. The RFP Committee strives to generate innovative ideas that will best serve the community's workforce needs. Their work is essential to the effectiveness of the programs that the WDB funds, and of the workforce system.

Finance Committee

The Finance Committee is charged with developing innovative ideas to move the workforce development mission forward in a demonstrative fashion. The committee recommends pilot projects, policy issues, and diverse funding approaches. In addition, the committee will determine how to assign the dollars under each of the three program areas among the various initiatives developed. A subcommittee of the Finance Committee works in conjunction with the Request for Proposals Committee to review proposals and acts in an advisory capacity during RFP development and proposal evaluation to preserve the integrity of the RFP process.

Youth Council

The Youth Council is responsible for making recommendations to the Workforce Development Board (WDB) for youth programs, overseeing and evaluating contracts and planning for programs for youth throughout the area. The Council makes recommendations to the WDB on all youth programs.
