Youth, Adult, Dislocated Worker Services
Workforce Center Operation
Program Year 2006
The Western Virginia Workforce Development Board (WDB) is accepting proposals to provide youth, adult and dislocated worker employment and training services, and to provide workforce center management, in accordance with The Workforce Investment Act of 1998, Title I, provisions, rules and regulations.
WDB serves Virginia Local Workforce Area III (the counties of Alleghany, Botetourt, Craig, Franklin, and Roanoke and the cities of Covington, Roanoke and Salem). Scope of services is fully described in the Request for Proposals dated September 11, 2005. It is available at the links below, in person at the WDB office, 108 N. Jefferson Street, Suite 809, Roanoke, VA 24016 and by phone 540-767-6149, or fax 540-767-6084.
A bidder's conference will be held Wednesday, Sept. 14, at 10 a.m. at the Roanoke Higher Education Center, Room 813.
Proposals are due, in person or by mail no later than 4 p.m. Friday, October 21, 2005.

October 24-November 7: Verification, Reviews & Selection
November 7: RFP/Youth Council Selection meeting
November 16: CLEO review of providers
November 22: Executive Committee approval of providers
December 2: Board approval; decisions announced
December 9: Deadline for appeals
December 9 - 31: Contracts negotiated
**2006**
January 2-6: Board of Directors called meeting if necessary to hear appeals; final approval of contracts
January-March: WIA Training and program preparation
April 1: Youth Program Funds available
July 1: Adult and Dislocated Worker and Workforce Operator funds available.
